Crucial Vote on South March Highlands set for October 6th - Ottawa City Council

Hello,

By reading this attachment (2.26MB), in only 6 minutes you can change 30 years of history in the City of Ottawa and convince Ottawa’s City Council to VOTE YES FOR EXPROPRIATION to save part of a land we have been fighting to save since 1981.  If we lose this vote, it will be clear-cut just days or weeks after this vote.  This is the first and last time Expropriation has been tabled for a vote – and if we lose – and if you do not state your desire to see Council and this Mayor vote for expropriation, we will lose, and the land will be destroyed.

The VOTE is OCTOBER 6th and presently we do not have enough votes to win.  This forest is unique in the world (see the attachment) – and it is ridiculous we need to fight for this – but we do - so we need your help.

I have created this attachment to quickly explain the situation and provide you a suggested comment which you can email to our Mayor and Council by Oct 5th.

Hopefully this document will convince Students, Associations, Recreational Groups and Environmentalists in Ottawa and across Canada and the USA to see that they can make a difference.
