At the Poets' Pathway party/reading, held on April 14, we were lucky enough to have the eloquent Clive Doucet present. He was persuaded to read some of his poems from Canal Seasons, a book of poems inspired by his rowing on the Rideau Canal.
To our delight, Mr. Doucet said that the Pathway was an idea whose time had come, and that he would present a motion to Ottawa City Council to work with the NCC on making the Pathway a reality.
The Poets' Pathway Committee is now working to get supporting material to him, so that he can propose the motion soon.
Soon after this event, the NCC sent the message explained by Bill Royds.
Everything seems to be falling into place!
