Volunteering for the Poets' Pathway Project

What would you like to do? Here are some ideas.


1 BECOME A MEMBER

Take out a membership in the Greenspace Alliance. Here is a Membership Application form.


Become a member of the Poets' Pathway Committee. Please contact the co-chair, George Wilson, at 613-421-9313.


Look over the tasks described below. Then fill out the Volunteer Form and mail it to Greenspace Alliance of Canada's Capital, P.O. Box 55085, 240 Sparks Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1P 1A1, or e-mail it to this address.


2. ENVIRONMENT

Clean up

Construction

Put up signs, poems etc



3. POLITICAL

Write letters to newspapers or to individuals

Research politics: who does what in Ottawa, (federal, municipal, provincial, NCC) significance for PP



4. COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Contact community groups – community associations, green groups, other arts groups, e.g. Arts Court, visual artists, for shows etc., writers, poets, theatre, music,
community groups like guides, brownies, seniors’ residences, museums, history and heritage, schools and " institutions" near the pathway

 

5. EDUCATION

Contact schools- elementary and high schools – make modules – lessons— writing competitions


Contact universities for research or for speaking or judging – what about Carleton’s English Society?


Judge poems or art works for competition


6. FUNDRAISING
