There are many ways to get involved and help protect natural areas in the national capital area.  As a non-profit, volunteer organization, we depend on the strength and generosity of our members. 
 
We always welcome new members, to meet the growing need for people to fill crucial roles.  The list of potential greenspace projects seems endless.  We also welcome "passive" members -- those who wish to be kept informed through our newsletter, e-mail service or this web site,  but cannot contribute time to a project.  The larger our membership, the more decision makers tend to listen.
 
Becoming a member of the Greenspace Alliance has many benefits.  The biggest reward is the feeling that you have helped protect a delicate ecosystem or a highly valued green space from destruction, or have been represented before government authorities supportive of greenspace protection.  Sharing knowledge and expertise among friends is another benefit, as is collaborating with them on interesting projects.

The Alliance is an advocacy organization and cannot provide receipts for income tax purposes. However, donations are most welcome!


Note: Donations to support the Poet's Hill project at Beechwood Cemetery may be made directly to the Beechwood Cemetery Foundation .
